To turn off meeting themes for a meeting: 1. ![]() If you turn this setting off during an active meeting, you’ll need to restart the meeting to see changes. You can revert to the default Microsoft Teams theme by turning this setting off before the meeting starts. The rollout of the new MicrosoftTeams Client 2. Add a Custom Background: Click the + button labeled Add new at the top. In my latest blog post, I wrote about how to deploy custom background images in Microsoft Teams 2.1. This might just be a timing issue and Microsoft will enable this functionality in the future. It seems like only Microsoft-curated background images (including blur) works and that you can’t use organization images or custom uploaded images. Scroll down to Camera and click on Background effects. Microsoft has released support for background effects for Teams browser clients. Background Effects: Go to Devices in the left-hand side menu. Access Settings: Click your profile picture or initials at the top right corner. If you have the version with the option to select a background image, custom images can be added. You will however have to manually select the background, from the list, for each new meeting. Teams remembers your backgrounds, so don’t worry about having to upload each and every time you have a new meeting. Here you will select your image and see your background replaced. Once you select your image it will be placed at the bottom of the default background images. From there you will be prompted to find the image you wish to have appear in your background. Click on the background effects icon and from there a side menu will appear on the right hand side where you can pick from the default backgrounds provided by Microsoft, or you can click on the Add New button. This time, if you’d like to add a custom background to your teams call, all you have to do is join the call and on the pre-meeting screen, where you hash out whether you want to turn on your camera, microphone, and background effects. Great news for everyone, it’s even easier than the trick method we previously showed you.
